Alloy steels
Alloy steel is a branch of steel that, in addition to carbon, is combined with other elements such as manganese, nickel, chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, silicon, and boron, and the weight of these elements varies from 1 to 5 percent. Less common elements include aluminum, cobalt, copper, cerium, niobium, titanium, tungsten, tin, zinc, lead and zirconium. Products made from these materials, such as copper pipes, also have anti-corrosive properties on their own. The presence of these additional materials in the steel alloy causes different mechanical properties. Alloy steels are usually more resistant to mechanical and thermal forces than carbon steels. Alloy steels are used in almost all industries to make manufacturing tools and final products. The exact grade and composition of alloy steel can be adjusted according to application requirements.

Applications
Alloy steel is used for making jet engines, turbine blades, spacecrafts due to its properties such as hardness, toughness, wear and corrosion resistance, ductility, etc. It should be noted that alloy steels give different responses in magnetic environments, and for this reason, they are used for making electric motors and converters.
Low alloy steels are used in various industrial sectors due to their strength, machinability and affordability. They can be found on ships, pipelines, pressure vessels, oil rigs, military vehicles, and construction equipment.
On the other hand, high alloy steels can be expensive to produce and challenging to work with. However, they are suitable for automotive applications, chemical processing, and power generation equipment due to their high strength, toughness, and corrosion resistance.
